Meet Estegenet Simachew
Estegenet Simachew (Etse) is a certified home care aide and the owner and resident manager of the home. She takes a hands-on approach, being intimately involved in the care of her residents. With several years of experience as a home care aide, Etse is well-equipped to provide compassionate, high-quality care to seniors.
In addition to her extensive home care experience, Etse is also a licensed pharmacist with over 10 years of professional experience before founding and operating her current business. Her background in pharmacy brings a strong foundation of expertise, discipline, and commitment to quality that enriches every aspect of her caregiving and management.
Growing up in a culture that honors and respects elders, Etse witnessed firsthand the importance of caring for seniors. She remembers stepping aside to let elders pass, receiving their blessings in return. Her parents cared for two of her grandparents in their later years, and Etse, along with her siblings, actively helped—assisting with massages, showers, and companionship, sharing laughter and creating joyful moments. She also heard heartbreaking stories of elders without family support, inspiring her deep appreciation for structured senior care systems like the Adult Family Home (AFH) model in the U.S.
Though trained as a pharmacist, Etse’s family and friends include many nurses and caregivers. These experiences naturally led her to the AFH business. She finds this work far more fulfilling than her previous role in retail pharmacy, taking joy in providing care, comfort, and dignity to seniors in a way that reflects the values she grew up with.
